Our Belief

GBF is built on the foundation of Jesus Christ. Apostle Paul calls the ’teachings of Jesus Christ as the ’foundation’. In the book of Hebrews we find what those teachings are – Repentance from dead works, Faith towards God, the doctrine of baptism, laying of hands, resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment (Hebrews 6:1,2). Thus, these six tenets are considered to be the foundational teachings of Jesus Christ and, we believe, one must have a clear understanding of these six doctrines to be a true Christian. Apostle Paul says, there can be no other foundation (teachings) apart from the one which Christ laid (1 Corinthians 3:11). Out belief is scriptural and it is stated below:

Repentance from Dead works

A person who comes to God must repent from his past and present sins. Scripture says, we all are born sinners and thus we must stand in the righteousness of Christ till death by seeking forgiveness from God through Christ. This process of repentance must be continuous, as we all are born sinners, and only because of Christ’s sacrifice we are righteous.

Faith Towards God

We believe in One True God. Israel people called God as ‘Yahweh’ and Jesus acknowledge Him as his father in the New Testament. ‘Yahweh’ is the creator of heaven and the earth. Jesus says, believing in one true God is important to achieve eternal life (John 17:3). We also believe that Yahweh God is the rewarder of our faith and hence it is the duty of every Christian to exercise their faith into action by spreading the gospel.

The Doctrine of Baptism

We believe in water Baptism. But before taking baptism, one must clearly understand the gospel and the meaning of baptism. Scripture says, Baptism symbolizes death and when we baptize, we die to this world and its evil desires (Romans 6:3 & 1 John 2:15-17). We must also understand that the baptism life comprises many trials and hence we must overcome them with the help of God and Christ to achieve eternal life.

Laying of Hands

We believe in the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Laying of hands represents the Holy Spirit’s anointing. The Apostles laid their hands on the believers to transfer the gifts of the Holy Spirit (Acts chapter 8). Hence, we must believe in the Holy Spirit of God and it’s anointing. And we must have a clear knowledge that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God and it was given to His children (1 John 3). We must also have a clear understanding between the evil spirit and the Holy Spirit. And we believe that God anoints us through His Holy Spirit by giving us the truth.

Resurrection of the dead

We believe in resurrection for All. Resurrection is the future hope of Christians and this hope was established by Christ when he died on the cross and resurrected after three days. Scripture says death came to ’All’ through Adam, and so life must be given to ‘All’ through Christ. And for this purpose Christ died. Thus, there will be a resurrection for the whole of mankind and everyone will resurrect in the Kingdom of God. However, there are differences in the resurrection and those who follow Christ now and lead a
